| ABOUT THE ARTWORK |
| The Boutique specializes in fused art glass jewelry, designed and hand crafted by Joan McDonald. All pieces are fused dichroic glass. Dichroic glass has a metallic coating that absorbs and reflects different colors of light at different angles, making the glass multi-hued. All pieces are fused glass, which means they are fired in a kiln, most to a temperature between 1400 and 1500 degrees. Some pieces are tack fused at a lower temperature, allowing individual components of the design to remain intact. Each design is a unique piece of wearable art, a product of the artistic process.
